A tribute to Tom MossSensei Tom Moss

After a brief illness, in May 2003, Sensei Tom Moss, 6th Dan Chief Instructor of the Yama Arashi (UK) Association, passed away.

We in Milton Keynes had only known Sensei Moss, who was based at the Phoenix Aikido Club in Coventry, for around 5 years.  In that short time he had become our good friend, wise mentor and deeply respected teacher.  We all loved and admired him immeasurably, both as a man and as an Aikidoka.

It is given to very few people to have such a positive effect on so many people - and Tom was definitely one of that few.

It's as though the sun's gone down - you can still see the path by moonlight, but it's nowhere near as bright.
